Remote Access Support with Remobo
RAS is the ability to view and control a computer from a different physical location. The MacXperts are able to service Macintosh systems nationwide from our office in Albuquerque, NM using the RAS capabilities of Remobo.
What is Remobo?
Remobo is a great utility that allows The MacXperts to login to your computer, run diagnostics, perform repairs, and to see and control your screen - all as if we were sitting in front of it.
How to Install Remobo on a Macintosh
Though it looks like a lot of steps to install and configure Remobo, it is very easy, and can be done in 5-10 minutes.
1. Visit the Remobo site to learn more about the utility, or simply download Remobo to the computer to be supported.
2. Once downloaded, Remobo will mount a disk image on your desktop named “Remobo”. Double-click to open this disk image.
3. Inside the disk image you will find the Remobo.app application. Drag this into your Applications folder. If your Mac user account does not have administrator privileges, drag the Remobo.app to your desktop.![]()
4. Drag the disk image to the trash.
5. Double-click on the Remobo.app to launch. The first time launched Remobo needs to install some additional software and will alert you to this. Click the OK button.

6. The Install TunTap Installer Package window will appear. Click the Continue button.
7. Continue clicking through the installer, selecting the default buttons.
8. When the installer completes, you are ready to configure Remobo
How to Configure Your Remobo User Account
1. Double-click on the Remobo.app application.
2. At the prompt, enter your username and password.
3. Click the New Account link at the bottom of the Remobo window.

4. This will launch the Remobo Wizard. Click the Next button.
5. In the Choose a Username field, enter your desired username.
- In the Choose a Password field, enter your desired password.
- In the Enter Password Again field, enter your password again.
- In the Enter Your E-Mail Address field, enter an address where Remobo can send to you.
- Click the Next button to complete your configuration.

6. The Remobo window will appear on your desktop.
How to Configure Remobo for Remote Access
1. If Remobo is not already open, double-click on the Remobo.app application. Enter your Remobo username and password. If you have multiple computers running Remobo, in the Location field give a unique name to this computer.
2. Remobo will open its window on your desktop.
3. Click on the Menu button at the bottom of the Remobo Window. Select Add a Buddy.
4. In the Add a Buddy window, enter “marcmintz”, then click the OK button.
5. Once we receive your request to be a Buddy, we are able to observe and control your computer.
Using Remobo for Remote Support
1. If Remobo is not already running on your computer, double-click on the Remobo.app application.
2. Contact The MacXperts to request support.
3. We will send a request to your Remobo asking for remote control. Remobo will alert you to this. Click the Yes button.
4. It may take 1-2 minutes for the behind-the-scenes encryption handshaking to complete. When it does, The MacXperts will be able to observe and control your computer.
